Hello! I'm Haofan Cai
I am a third-year Ph.D. student in University of California Santa Cruz, under the guidance of Prof. Chen Qian. My research works orbit around the Internet of Things, such as Wi-Fi and RFID. Before studying in the United States, I had been living in a coastal city in China and got my Bachelor degree in Communications Engineering from SUSTech. My resume can be found here.

RFID AUTHENTICATION

Presented the first physical layer RFID authentication protocol that is resilient to the signal replay attack as well as other major attacks including tag counterfeiting, signal compensation, and brute-force feature reply.

Introduced the model of combinatorial spectrum auction with reserve prices for spectrum trading.

Came up with a greedy algorithm which assigned spectrums to buyers based on their requested channel bundles, bids and reserve prices.

Proposed the dynamic spectrum allocation model and formulated the issue of spectrum allocation as a many-to-one matching problem.

Designed a two-stage distributed algorithm with consideration of the interference constraints among spectrum buyers.​
